Well this entry will be quite a mix up, because I want to somewhat vent about a problem most of us are probably affected by these days. At this point in time, I'm confident and well practiced in the fundamentals of the C programming language. However, now is the time I leave my "nest", and graduate to reading REAL programming books for more in-depth study. Whether I will couple this with following a C programming course is undecided, as there's a lot of shit courses flooding the market, thanks to AI slop. There are some classic books that I'll be getting my hands on, such as 'C Programming - A Modern Approach' by King. However to my dismay, navigating amazon for programming books has been a shitty experience. Everyone and their dog has authored a programming book now, apparently all you need is ChatGPT and 3 brain cells, and amazon gives a thumbs up allowing you to dilute the market.

So genuine authors have reduced their prices for their books to compete right? NOPE. It's in fact THE OPPOSITE. Now it's basically "Our book is genuine, and a standard for universities and educational establishments, therefore this big price tag justifies its worth". Even WORSE, people are literally copying peoples books and selling them for cheaper using AI to bypass copywrite infringement. The book I just mentioned by King, which is 600+ pages (because it's thorough), has a 270 page version floating on amazon, sold by some "who the fuck are you" "Author", for 50 dollars. Don't be fooled by the 5 stars and the AI reviews. I typed in amazon "c programming pointers", I got a page full of AI covered books (most 2025 and onwards published of course) with laughable prices $40+. This AI shit isn't worth taking FOR FREE let alone $40+ dollars.

The legit books are like $80-$200 on average. Oh well, looks like I'll be eating a lot of lentils and rice the oncoming months as I empty my bank account on these books. These authors deserve their books to be pirated for their greed, however I am a firm believer in abiding by the law and heavily condone against piracy/theft, lucky for them.

I came out of hospital yesterday as I've mentioned before I am suffering with health problems, but as far as I know, things appear to be somewhat reversable. I'm working on making like a small database program, which organizes created entries by date, and is indexed and searchable. I am also keen to one day create a single player MUD game. That sounds like a contradiction I know, as MUD stands for multi-user dungeon intended for several players. However I'd love a single player text rpg with features such as a consistent/persistent world, zones, mobs(enemies), spells, factions and various other things. It'll take me many years, but projects at this scale are awesome for applying what I learn. The fishing game I made gave me a little taste of what it's like to make a finished working game. I have not touched the fishing game since I finished it, but the project was never intended to be this ongoingly updated thing.

Will I stand through the trials and flames? Will I financially survive my bankrupcy after buying these books? Will I throw my PC out the window? Stay tuned and find out folks!
